Learn to dye wool yarn with the help of nature!
For a total of 3 days, you will get to try dyeing wool yarn with dyes from nature. This is a basic course where we go through all the steps of the dyeing process together. We dye yarn in all the colors of the rainbow with, among other things, birch, onion, crab, reed twigs and brazil. After completing the course, you will have a "driving license in plant dyeing", with sufficient basic knowledge to dye on your own.
Course structure
During these 3 well-filled days we will, among other things:
- Get to know and pick current "color plants"
- Go through pickling and prepare paint baths
- Dye wool yarn with the pre- and post-workings of the wool required for a good result.
You also get:

- Tips on books and links
- Meet like-minded people and build networks in the area.

What's included?
In addition to the course, welcome coffee, vegetarian soup lunch and afternoon coffee are included every day. All chemicals are included and equipment is on site. Plants are partly picked together, but you will also be given the homework to collect some plants during the summer. Yarn will be available for purchase on site, at cost price.
Course leader
Kina Giesenfeld is educated at Konstfack in Graphic Design and Illustration, as well as in weaving from Sätergläntan. She works as a freelance designer. China brings with it plant dyeing from childhood and loves to dye wool! It is her great hobby, where she has deepened her knowledge through courses and her own training.
Price & registration
The price is SEK 3,800 / person. Maximum 12 participants / course. Email your application with contact information to tord@herrestalada.com. We confirm your registration and will return with more information before the start of the course. The last day to register is August 1. Course fee is refunded upon cancellation no later than 10 days before the start of the course.
